Received the new BT Smart Hub 2 from BT today and have spent the last 3 hours trying to set it up with Sky Q - all other devices connect fine to the new hub except for Q - on some occasions, the main box will not even connect to the hub - when it did connect i tried to set up the mini box and it has I scored a used BT Home Hub 6 for just over £10 delivered and, wow, what a difference. Easy enough to set up, a much stronger wireless signal than the shoddy Plusnet Hub One, and way more reliable too. Several devices that kept dropping out even when inches away from the Hub One are now back to being rock solid again with the BT hub. About once every 15 mins my new BT Home Hub seems to drop the wifi. Happens on Laptop and iPhone connections. Disabling and enabling the wifi on my laptop seems to make it work. Oct 11, 2016 · There's a big thread on BT care community about this issue of dropping wifi connections with HH5. Don't know if newer HH6 has the same problem but at least try to talk with BT for replacement (for free ). The newer 6 are going for £40-50, sell it and buy decent reliable router. I used to have HH5 with few dropouts, not very severe but noticeable.

Nov 09, 2018 · BT home hub 3 is rubbish! We are currently using BT home hub 3 and the signal is constantly dropping, the customer service is rubbish, our latest bill was £101, and we haven't gone over our contract usage. Since being on the phone for an hour and a half I decided to move to Virgin.

It got the point of barely being usable. I switched back from the supplied Plusnet Hub One router to my old BT Home Hub 5 router (changing the login details).
